The Room Was Full. The Momentum Is Real.
|
The 2026 iC³ Life Science & Healthcare Innovation Summit brought the North Texas life sciences community together in Arlington for two extraordinary days of connection, conversation and possibility.
Across the Summit, leaders from industry, research, healthcare, investment, entrepreneurship and economic development came together not simply to discuss where our ecosystem is headed, but to help shape what comes next.
From new relationships and emerging companies to conversations around commercialization, manufacturing, investment, workforce and the technologies transforming healthcare, iC³ reflected a North Texas ecosystem growing in both scale and ambition.
To every speaker, sponsor, partner, exhibitor, volunteer and attendee who helped make this year’s Summit possible: thank you for being in the room.
The Summit may be over, but the work continues — and so does the momentum.

Breaking News from iC³:
Rainwater Charitable Foundation Launches BRING IT
Applications due November 13, 2026
|
One of the most important announcements from this year’s iC³ Summit came directly from the stage.
Glenn A. Harris of the Rainwater Charitable Foundation introduced the Brain Research & Innovation Network: Grant Initiative of Texas (BRING IT), a new funding opportunity designed to advance brain health and dementia research across Texas.
BRING IT will provide approximately 20 one-year seed grants of up to $100,000 to Texas-based academic and nonprofit teams. The initiative is designed to help promising research move forward while positioning projects for future funding opportunities through the Dementia Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (DPRIT).
BioNTX was proud that this opportunity was first shared with the North Texas life sciences community at iC³. We are especially grateful to the Rainwater Charitable Foundation, a key iC³ sponsor and partner, and to Glenn Harris for bringing this announcement to the Summit and helping expand awareness of new opportunities to advance dementia research and brain health across Texas.

This Is Our Story: The BioNTX Anthem Film
|
At iC³ 2026, we debuted something special.
The new BioNTX Anthem Film captures more than an organization. It captures a region in motion — the people, institutions, companies and communities building the future of life sciences and healthcare across North Texas.
Our ecosystem has grown because people across this region have chosen to build together, connect across traditional boundaries and believe in what North Texas can become.
Produced in partnership with DHD Films, BioNTX’s Official Storytelling & Content Production Partner, the Anthem Film brings that journey to life.
This is our community. This is our moment. This is BioNTX.

Texas Leads the Way as ARPA-H Launches SURPASS Initiative
|
BioNTX CEO Gina Ford attended the announcement by the nation’s top health officials of a new ARPA-H initiative to streamline clinical trials in the U.S.
“Texas represents the United States in one state and has everything needed to move the ball forward,” said ARPA-H Director Alicia Jackson, PhD, pointing to incredible innovation, medical research institutions, and willingness to be a pioneer and partner. The Sept. 30 rollout took place at UT Austin’s Dell Medical School.
“Given everything our state is doing to support the success of life-changing innovation for patients, it is thrilling to see Texas at the forefront of this transformational project,” said Ford, noting this comes exactly three years after ARPA-H selected Texas for its Customer Experience Hub at Pegasus Park.
The new ARPA-H SURPASS program will evaluate drugs and biologics more efficiently and remove barriers that slow clinical development.

Building the Workforce Infrastructure for What Comes Next
|
On October 2, the BioNTX Facilities Committee brought together leaders from higher education, workforce development and the built environment for a BioNTX Presents: North Texas Workforce Development Panel at BioLabs.
Moderated by Ben Magill of the Texas Talent Accelerator at the University of North Texas, the discussion explored the facilities, programs and collaborative models helping North Texas prepare the talent needed to support the region’s growing life sciences ecosystem.
The expert panel included Diego Rozo, Managing Principal, Perkins&Will; Logan Ardrey, Assistant Director, Texas A&M NCTM2 Lab; Bridgette Kirkpatrick, Biotechnology Coordinator, Collin College; and Todd Polk, Professor of Practice, UTDesign at The University of Texas at Dallas.
The conversation highlighted the connection between workforce development and the places where people learn, train and gain hands-on experience, while also identifying opportunities to better connect regional resources with employers, educators, students and professionals. The morning also included networking and a tour of the Texas A&M NCTM2 Lab.
The program reflects a larger BioNTX priority for 2027: bringing North Texas workforce efforts together through a more comprehensive platform that expands access to talent, opportunities, resources and collaboration.
North Texas already has many of the pieces required to build a world-class life sciences workforce. The next opportunity is to connect them.
That work is already underway.
