82VS is seeking a Director for its new Biotech Startup Academy (BSA) in Dallas, a key position responsible for helping shape the city's growing biotech ecosystem. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with the General Partner, President, and the 82VS Dallas team to launch and oversee the BSA, a program designed to train future biotech entrepreneurs and executives. The Director will manage event coordination, communications with participants and partners, and oversee the administration and project management of the program. In addition, the Director will manage the Pegasus Fellows Program, selecting and supporting top candidates to start biotech companies.

This position provides a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in biotech startup incubation while collaborating with industry leaders from biotech, venture capital, and academia. As the face of the BSA, the Director will foster a collaborative learning environment focused on developing innovative therapies. Over time, the role will offer increasing autonomy as the BSA and its associated programs continue to evolve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the event management for three immersive sessions per year for the BSA, which includes recruiting and coordinating students, sponsors, and instructors.
  • Serve as the primary contact for inbound inquiries, developing and executing communication strategies for the BSA community.
  • Manage the administrative tasks of the BSA, such as scheduling meetings, coordinating with Alloy Therapeutics, and overseeing project timelines and deliverables.
  • Oversee the Pegasus Fellows Program, including recruiting, evaluating, and supporting fellows from the BSA.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop and implement best-in-class processes and strategies for the BSA.
