Gurshaman Baweja, PhD, MBA, General Partner, Enterprise Venture

Gurshaman is an innovative leader, advisor, angel investor and board member, who combines a technical background and subject matter expertise with business savvy to implement transformative strategies that solve problems, generate operational efficiencies, enhance commercial success, and control risk. 

Gurshaman currently advises technology venture capital firms and startups with strategy, sales growth, scaling operations and resiliency. As General Partner of Enterprise Venture Fund (EVF), he is driving acceleration of AI roadmaps in enterprises. Gurshaman is also very actively involved in efforts to transform cancer treatment and care, through influence and awareness. 

Previously, in leadership roles at Texas Instruments, including Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Gurshaman brought his expertise in mission-critical issues, including cyber security, scaling of operations, and business continuity, to the board level, advising on strategy to enhance risk posture, optimize supply chain and sales channels, and improve global manufacturing quality and productivity. 

Gurshaman holds a Master of Science and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University, a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Punjab University. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Audit Committee of University of Texas (UT) at Dallas. In his free time, Gurshaman coaches robotics and soccer teams and mentors university STEM students.


Susan Butler, Director of Product Management, Kerv.ai

As the Director of Product Management at Kerv.ai, an AI-powered video technology company, Susan Butler offers a unique viewpoint on the convergence of cybersecurity and biotechnology. With her ISC2 CC certification ("Certified in Cybersecurity"), experience in digital compliance standards, and nonstandard work experience, Susan is uniquely prepared for navigating the complex landscape of cyberbiosecurity.

Her background ranges from running biohacking events (BodyHacking Con) and hacker conferences (ISSW), to Product Management and training neural nets. She believes that privacy and security is important for everyone, infuses the 'hacker mindset' into everything she does, and looks forward to the challenges the new landscape of AI brings to security- particularly in the biotechnology and healthcare fields.

Though Susan hails from Canada originally, she has been largely located in Austin, Texas since the mid 90s, and has family in the DFW area. When she's not nerding out on all things product and security, she enjoys painting, watching movies, and reading sci-fi.


Panna Sharma, CEO & President, Lantern Pharma

Panna Sharma is the President and CEO of Lantern Pharma Inc., a clinical-stage oncology biotech using artificial intelligence (AI) and genomics to innovate the rescue, revitalization, and development of precision cancer therapeutics. As CEO, Panna is responsible for developing Lantern’s strategic vision, and working closely with the venture investors to raise capital that will place the Company at the forefront of using AI and genomics in developing its pipeline of precision therapies.

Prior to joining Lantern in 2018, Panna was the President and CEO of Cancer Genetics, Inc., a provider of genomic and immune-based cancer diagnostics and therapy development services to some of the most prestigious medical institutions and pharma companies in the world. In his capacity as CEO at CGIX, he raised over $100 million in the public and private markets and grew the company from 25 employees in New Jersey to over 250 employees globally across multiple continents. Panna took CGIX public in 2013 and acquired four companies globally that help CGIX deliver on its mission to help personalize cancer treatment. 

Panna attended Boston University in the University Professors Program and focused his studies on Philosophy of Science, Neural Networks and Artificial Intelligence. When not focused on the future of biotech, machine learning, emerging technologies, and genomics, Panna can be found with his three children and wife and listening to music, attending sports functions, discussing new and ethical uses of AI, debating language theories and enjoying the vibrant and evolving local food scene.
