The National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD)’s Rare Disease Research Grant - Amyloidosis

NORD, with donations from the amyloidosis community, is accepting applications for one grant, up to $45,000 US, for scientific and/or clinical research studies related to amyloidosis.

Amyloidosis is a systemic disorder caused by abnormal folding of normal soluble proteins leading to fibril formation in one or more body organs, systems or soft tissue (called amyloid deposits). These deposits cause the progressive malfunction and eventual failure of the affected organ. Amyloidosis is classified into several different types based on the precursor protein involved.
