Baylor Researcher Receives National Nobel Laureate Signature Award for Graduate Education

Ivan Korendovych, Ph.D., the inaugural James R. Schofield Endowed Chair in Biochemistry at Baylor University, has been honored by the American Chemical Society (ACS) for excellence in graduate education. Korendovych, who joined Baylor in January, was recognized as the preceptor for the ACS Nobel Laureate Signature Award, given to an outstanding graduate student and instructor.

Korendovych and his former student, Sagar Bhattacharya, Ph.D., received the award for developing the fastest artificial enzyme, research published in *Nature* in 2022. Bhattacharya is now a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California-San Francisco.
