Baylor University School of Education Hosts STEM+ Camp Launch for Rising Fifth Graders

The Baylor University School of Education is hosting the second year of the STEM+ Camp Launch, a week-long day camp that focuses on rocket science for rising fifth graders from three Transformation Waco schools. Co-founded by Dr. Suzanne Nesmith, associate dean and associate professor of science education, and Dr. Sandi Cooper, professor of mathematics education, this program is funded by a grant from Waco’s Cooper Foundation and takes place at Baylor’s Mayborn Museum.

During the camp, students delve into scientific principles through engaging projects such as building and racing model cars. And the highlight? Each student gets to launch a rocket they’ve built!
