CPRIT Approves Millions in Funding to Boost Cancer Research in Texas

The Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) has approved $60.6 million in grants to advance cancer research in the state. These grants will support a variety of academic research projects, including CPRIT Scholar recruitment, innovative core facilities, and developmental research focused on new approaches to cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

CPRIT CEO Kristen Doyle highlighted the impact of these grants, emphasizing their role in supporting essential research infrastructure, funding innovative studies, and expanding the pool of clinical trial investigators. The funding includes nine grants dedicated to core facilities, which are crucial research hubs providing coordinated technologies, services, and expertise to cancer researchers across Texas.
