Nanoscope Therapeutics announced the publication of preclinical research on its nonviral gene delivery platform designed to target specific areas of the degenerating retina. In animal studies, the approach demonstrated sustained visual response improvements for up to 52 weeks and restored localized retinal responses in a model of geographic atrophy. The findings support further development of targeted therapies for retinal degenerative diseases, including age-related macular degeneration and retinitis pigmentosa.
