NIIMBL Collaborates with Open Applications Group (OAGi) to Develop Open-Source Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing Ontologies
The National Institute for Innovation in Manufacturing Biopharmaceuticals (NIIMBL) has contributed its biopharmaceutical manufacturing ontologies to The Open Applications Group (OAGi) for further development as an open-source initiative. By transitioning NIIMBL’s ontology efforts to an open-source framework, the aim is to foster broader participation and adoption of standardized processes, thereby enhancing the overall advantages for the biopharmaceutical industry. Roger Hart, NIIMBL Senior Fellow/ Big Data Project Lead emphasized that this open-source platform ensures industry-wide accessibility to these ontologies, facilitating ongoing refinement and adaptation. This approach consolidates ontologies, currently developed privately by small groups, into a centralized repository.NIIMBL Collaborates with Open Applications Group (OAGi) to Develop Open-Source Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing Ontologies
