Tarleton State Address Food Insecurity With Free Urban Farming Course

Tarleton State University has partnered with Opal’s Farm to offer urban farming classes to tackle food insecurity and health disparities by increasing access to nutritious foods.

The program, Taste the C.U.R.E. (Community Urban Farming Resource Education), is a free six-month initiative designed to teach participants the principles of organic and regenerative farming while fostering a sustainable food system. Through this collaboration, individuals will gain the skills and knowledge needed to grow their own food and enhance their health through agriculture. The first cohort will welcome 25 participants, with plans to expand community involvement and create lasting impact.
