Tarleton State Announces Center for Rural Resilience
Tarleton State University’s College of Health Sciences and College of Agriculture and Natural Resources are joining forces to create the Center for Rural Resilience. Approved at the November 2024 Texas A&M System Board of Regents meeting, this initiative aims to support the well-being of Texas’ vast rural population and agricultural communities. With the largest rural population in the nation and a leading role in American agriculture, Texas depends on the strength of its farms, ranches, and rural counties. However, these areas face unique challenges, including healthcare shortages and the stresses of rural and agricultural life. The center will address these critical issues, promoting resilience and sustainability in rural communities.
