Tarleton State University Receives USDA Grant for Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure
Tarleton State University has been awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Marketing Service as part of the Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure (RFSI) program. This initiative, facilitated by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), aims to enhance the resilience of the state’s food supply chain for food crops. Specifically, the focus is on strengthening the middle of the food supply chain, which occurs after harvest but before goods are sold in stores or markets. The RFSI program seeks to expand local and regional market options for food produced in Texas. By doing so, it contributes to the overall stability and reliability of our food system. Tarleton State University’s involvement in this impactful program demonstrates their commitment to research, innovation, and economic development. Dr. James Hurley, Tarleton State’s President, expressed gratitude for the support and leadership of Commissioner Sid Miller, who played a key role in making this grant a reality for the region.Tarleton State University Receives USDA Grant for Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure
