The Colossal Foundation Doubles Funding to $100 Million to Prevent Mass Extinctions
The Colossal Foundation, the nonprofit arm of de-extinction company Colossal Biosciences, announced it has secured an additional $50 million in funding, bringing total support to $100 million since its launch just over a year ago to combat the global biodiversity crisis. The new funding will expand its global conservation programs focused on critically endangered species, genetic rescue, wildlife monitoring, and rewilding while partnering with more organizations worldwide. The Foundation also released its first Impact Report outlining progress in projects spanning over 40 species and six continents. Leaders emphasize that innovative biotechnologies are essential tools alongside traditional conservation to help make extinction a thing of the past.
