TWU Kinesiology Team Wins NASA-Themed Design Competition Again, Advancing Space Health Innovation
A Texas Woman’s University kinesiology student team earned first place overall in a NASA-sponsored statewide design competition for the sixth time since 2018. The students developed a pneumatic boot device designed to stimulate foot mechanoreceptors and help counteract muscle loss and sensory decline astronauts experience in microgravity. Their project highlights TWU’s growing role in space health research and applied biomedical engineering through innovative student-led design work.
