UNT Health Fort Worth Joins National Alzheimer’s Study Focused on Adults With Down Syndrome

UNT Health Fort Worth’s Institute for Translational Research (ITR) has been selected as the first Texas site for the national Alzheimer’s Biomarker Consortium Down Syndrome (ABC-DS) study, funded by the NIH. The study will examine how Alzheimer’s disease develops in adults with Down syndrome and identify early biological markers that may predict disease onset, progression, and risk. Participants aged 25 and older will receive no-cost brain health evaluations, imaging, and clinical assessments as researchers work to improve early detection and future treatment strategies.
