UNT Health Science Center Announces First Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences for DFW Region

The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth is set to launch the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex’s first Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, with a tentative start in Fall 2026.

Recently approved by the UNT System Board of Regents, the program now awaits final approval from state and regional accrediting bodies. Housed in the College of Pharmacy, the new doctoral degree aims to meet growing workforce demand—driven by a projected 19% increase in pharmaceutical sciences jobs through 2029.
