UNTHSC Professor Leads Key Alzheimer's Disease Study
Researchers from the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth have published a key study in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease. Led by Dr. Lubnaa Abdullah and colleagues Drs. Fan Zhang, James Hall, and Sid O’Bryant, the team conducted the largest analysis of plasma neurofilament light chain (NfL) in community-dwelling non-Hispanic Blacks. The study links NfL levels to cognitive outcomes, showing a significant association with executive function measures. These findings highlight NfL as a marker of neurodegeneration impacting attention, processing, and generativity.UNTHSC Professor Leads Key Alzheimer's Disease Study
