
UT Arlington Professor Recieves NSF Award to Support Research
Michelle Hummel, Associate Professor Civil Engineering, UT Arlington Michelle Hummel, an associate professor of civil engineering, has received a prestigious Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to support her research and educational efforts. The CAREER award is the NSF’s highest honor for junior faculty, recognizing exceptional researchers who are poised to become leaders in both education and the integration of research at their institutions. With funding, Dr. Hummel will work with local and regional officials in coastal communities to enhance strategies for managing and improving flood adaptation measures from both coastal and land-based sources.
