UT Dallas Big Idea Competition Highlights Student Innovation Across Tech, Health, and Sustainability

The University of Texas at Dallas hosted the finals of its 2025 Big Idea Competition, where students and alumni pitched groundbreaking ideas in biotechnology, AI, sustainability, and digital community-building. The event, presented by the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IIE), drew a record-breaking 125+ applications and awarded over.

Taking home first place in the student category were chemistry twin PhD students: Ikeda and Orikeda Trashi. Their winning venture, Biodelivera, is a novel platform that uses virus-like particles to deliver cancer therapies directly to tumors, promising more targeted and effective treatment options.
