Dr. Kristen Kennedy and Dr. Karen Rodrigue, psychology professors at The University of Texas at Dallas’ Center for Vital Longevity (CVL), have been awarded a five-year, $3.7 million grant from the National Institute on Aging, part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This funding will support the expansion of their Dallas Area Longitudinal Lifespan Aging Study, enabling a fourth and fifth wave of data collection to study changes in brain structure, function, and cognition over time. With this addition, the project will follow participants—currently aged 20 to 98—across a total of 14 years, building on data gathered over three prior cycles spanning approximately eight years. High-resolution imaging will continue to be a key tool in tracking these long-term changes.
