The Liver Tumor Program at UT Southwestern’s Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center has been designated a Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE) by the National Cancer Institute, accompanied by a five-year grant. The program’s goal is to translate innovative scientific discoveries into precision interventions to prevent and treat liver cancer, with a focus on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)—the most common form, representing over 85% of cases nationwide.
