UT Southwestern Researcher Benjamin Sabari Receives Prestigious Pershing Square Sohn Cancer Prize
UT Southwestern molecular biologist Benjamin Sabari was awarded the 2026 Pershing Square Sohn Cancer Prize, a highly competitive national award supporting innovative early-career cancer researchers. The prize will provide $750,000 over three years to advance his work on biomolecular condensates dynamic protein networks that may play a major role in driving cancer-related gene activity. His research aims to develop new strategies for targeting oncogenic transcription, potentially opening a new therapeutic approach for difficult-to-treat cancers.
