UT Tyler Opens First-of-Its-Kind Helicopter Simulation Center to Advance Critical Care Training
The University of Texas at Tyler School of Nursing hosted a ribbon cutting for its new Helicopter Critical Care Transport Simulation Center, designed to train students in delivering medical care in high-pressure air transport environments. The program is one of only a few in the nation and the only one to train both nurses and paramedic using a realistic helicopter-based clinical simulator. This initiative strengthens UT Tyler’s role in advancing rural healthcare and workforce training by preparing students for emergency and flight-based medical care scenarios
