UT Tyler School of Medicine Launches First Biomedical Sciences PhD Program in East Texas
The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine has received formal approval from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to offer the region’s first integrated PhD program in biomedical sciences. Set to welcome its inaugural class in Fall 2025, this groundbreaking program will focus on biochemistry and molecular biology, equipping students with the tools to better understand disease mechanisms and contribute to the development of innovative treatments. As part of the curriculum, students will delve into new areas of research and gain real-world experience by writing and submitting their own grant proposals.
