UTA opens AI-driven Smart Agriculture Research Center
The University of Texas at Arlington announced the opening of its Smart Agriculture Research Center (SARC), developed in partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture to apply artificial intelligence and data science to real-world agricultural challenges like predicting plant diseases and forecasting outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza. The center also provides research opportunities for UTA students working alongside USDA scientists and aims to strengthen food system resilience while training the next generation of AI-enabled agricultural researchers.
