UTA Research added $226M To U.S. Economy

A new report reveals that research projects at The University of Texas at Arlington contributed $226.4 million to the national economy through 797 vendor contracts and subcontracts between 2018 and 2022. Among these contracts, 111 were awarded to small businesses, and 87 were given to minority- or woman-owned businesses.

“Research from UT Arlington faculty and students not only helps address some of society’s most challenging issues, but it also serves as a crucial economic driver for business development,” said Kate C. Miller, vice president for research and innovation at UTA. “This report clearly demonstrates that UTA research spending has a significant ripple effect on local, regional, and national economies.”
