UTD Engineer Receives NASA Grant to Overcome Building Challenges in Space
Dr. Wei Li, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering, UT Dallas Dr. Wei Li, an assistant professor of mechanical engineering at The University of Texas at Dallas’ Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science, is developing methods to construct permanent structures in extreme, low-gravity environments with thin atmospheres. To support his research, Li recently received a three-year NASA Early Stage Innovations grant of up to $750,000. He was one of only six researchers nationwide selected for the 2024 award, which aims to accelerate the development of pioneering, high-risk, high-reward space technologies.
