UTD Researcher Shows Link Between Adverse Childhood Experiences and Stress

A University of Texas at Dallas study reveals that adverse childhood experiences and related stress are linked to reduced development in a key brain region, increasing the risk of psychotic-like experiences (PLE) during the transition from childhood to adolescence.

Dr. Katherine Damme, assistant professor of psychology in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences, authored the study, published in the November edition of Psychoneuroendocrinology.
