UTSW AI Model Predicts Kidney Cancer Treatment Success
Researchers at UT Southwestern have developed an AI model that accurately predicts which kidney cancer patients will benefit from anti-angiogenic therapy, which is a treatment effective in less than half of cases. Published in Nature Communications, the study focuses on clear cell renal cell carcinoma, the most common kidney cancer subtype. The model could help personalize treatment, sparing patients from unnecessary side effects and costs while improving outcomes.
