UTSW Receives Funding to Advance Trauma Care Research and Innovation
UT Southwestern Medical Center, as part of a new initiative funded by The University of Texas System and the state of Texas, aims to enhance trauma patient care through groundbreaking research, product development, and training. The initiative, led by Benjamin Levi, M.D., Associate Professor of Surgery and Division Chief of Burn, Trauma, Acute and Critical Care Surgery, has received a grant of $18,037,863 from the Trauma Research and Combat Casualty Care Collaborative (TRC4). This funding will support research focusing on pre-hospital care, innovative surgical support technologies, drugs, therapies, trauma system registries, and wound management techniques, ultimately addressing the significant impact of trauma injuries, which annually cost the U.S. an estimated $4.2 trillion.UTSW Receives Funding to Advance Trauma Care Research and Innovation
