Just 15 miles from BioLabs, Wildwood Development held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to unveil the new DeSoto Professional Park.  This 80-acre business and professional hub marks a major milestone for the region and the DeSoto Life Science Innovation Core. The park will leverage Southern Dallas' rich healthcare talent, creating numerous jobs and offering a walkable, amenity-rich environment with green spaces, parks, and trails. City leaders and community members celebrated the project as a new era of innovation and opportunity for DeSoto.

Articulate Labs will be joining The Medical Device Innovation Consortium's (MDIC) Advanced Manufacturing Clearing House Initiative (AMCH). Articulate is the first company in the initiative.

Over the next six months, the MDIC and Articulate will be creating a case study on the use of a real-time operating system (RTOS) that integrates patient data into a digital twin - a digital model of a real world physical system - to enhance therapy and diagnostics.

Julia Y. Chan, Ph.D., professor of chemistry and biochemistry and The Tim and Sharalynn Fenn Family Endowed Chair in Materials Science at Baylor University, has been honored as an ACS Fellow for 2024 by the American Chemical Society (ACS). This program offers the opportunity for a unique bridge between the NIH intramural and extramural research communities and contains two phases. In the first phase, Lasker Scholars will receive appointments for up to 5-7 years as tenure-track investigators within the NIH Intramural Research Program with independent research budgets. In the second phase, scholars will receive up to 3 years of NIH support for their research at an extramural research facility; or, the Scholar can be considered to remain as an investigator within the intramural program.
